Good job, cutting your real social ties, relatives and connections and possible allies, for some faces on TV.

Some of my “real social ties” as you call them- actually support those “faces on TV,” and these “social ties” not only support them, but wholeheartedly align morally with them- which is in direct opposition of my own moral codes.

And one of those codes happens to be not associating with ignorant and toxic people.

      Family or not.

Blood may be thicker than water, but it’s not thicker than a system of humanitarian values, and an adherence to logic, reason, and free-thinking.

I will not sacrifice any of these things to keep toxic people in my life. Social ties or not.

Real life is a bit more practical.

Good relationship between family and politics is - you do disagree with your family, and you do pick different sides in politics, the more different the better. But in the end the part of the family that supported the winning side pulls up the other part of the family.

It’s more of a survival tactic. I’m not sure if you really know how this works.

This goes FAR beyond “different sides in politics.” They are hateful and toxic. And from where I stand, I know plenty enough about how it works to know you have no place telling me how to go about managing the relationships in my life.

So how about you keep your smug, self-righteous judgements to yourself and keep out of the decisions made by others.

Next time, ask yourself that before you think to offer unasked for advice.

No, that’s a request. Learn the difference.

That’s another unasked advice, while reinforcing the previous one.

It’s not for faces on TV.

It’s for the utter lack of morality required to support people of Trump’s caliber.

It’s for the “Stand down and Stand by.”

      It’s for the “Shithole countries.”

      It’s for the rape conviction.

It’s for the selling of state secrets.

It’s for the tens of thousands of lies.

It’s for the mockery of disabled people.

      It’s for inciting an insurrection.

@rottingleaf I saw you say you’re not American and you don’t know who you would vote for. It’s easy to assemble words with no meaning in your position. I recommend reading up on Trump before judging from on high once more.

Yes, well, my historical example was pretty similar in all the things you list.
