I don’t understand how this distinction works though, I voted for Harris so I don’t fit into either category but wouldn’t you just remove people from the “protest vote gone quiet” if you saw them not being quiet about it?

No, there are still some of them around still doing the “both parties are the same” schtick, claiming Harris would have done this too.
Make no mistake, both parties are willing and complicit in the Palestinian Genocide, that does not make them equally evil, it means that splitting hairs about Harris or Biden being a litttle less genocidal and much more polite about it too… is an incredibly hollow argument that inveitably leads to a deadend of nihilistic cynicism.
