Summary

European leaders, including Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, condemned Elon Musk’s call for Germany to “move beyond the past” regarding Nazi crimes.

Musk made the remarks at a far-right AfD rally just before the 80th anniversary of Auschwitz’s liberation, sparking backlash.

Critics warn Musk is promoting extremist ideologies in Europe.

The AfD, designated a “suspected extremist” group, is gaining traction ahead of Germany’s elections.

In the U.S., Illinois Governor JB Pritzker criticized Trump for not denouncing Musk’s statements.
