I remember that strike. I was working at a hardware store at the time, and I remember people being extremely upset when shipment of things to the store was taking longer than normal (such as tool repairs that were sent to a shop). We’d just say, “The UPS strike has everything screwed up,” and they wouldn’t be happy, but there was nothing we could do.
