A recent patent application is suggesting that Google is going to replace the notch with an under-display front-facing camera in future Pixel phones.

    There are some Chinese devices where the camera is pretty much invisible. It doesn’t look like Samsung’s version where you can clearly see the pixels.

    That being said, they absolutely destroy camera quality - so either Google is betting on AI to fake face details, or they assume people will use the back cameras more often.

      The output from each sensor is then combined to create a final high-quality image using digital image processing and machine learning. In this way, the negative impact of shooting through a screen is reduced.

        Googles software on photos is usually the best. Still rather have a hole punch than a shitty camera tho

            I really don’t mind the whole punch cuz it usually just ends up taking up a little of the notification bar anyways
