There’s a youtube channel called TrekCulture that does, well, Trek content. They made a video a little while ago saying some reasons why you should ‘stop hating Discovery’. They even elaborate in the opening it’s more of a video why you should give the show another chance. There are a lot of complaints about the show that were made and stuck around before the story started to unfold. With the story unfolding, and the show growing, its a new lens and a new light the show can be taken in. Also, every show before Discovery needed a couple seasons to figure itself out too. Discovery is no exception.

Highly urge you to give it another go. The first season is rough, I grant you. Its dark in tone (for a reason) and rough around the edges but Season 2 onwards are fantastic and show a whole new side of the Trek universe. We normally see the philosophical sides with TNG and Voyager and DS9. Discovery just gets to show us something new and anything new in the Trek universe? Fine by me!

I didn’t finish season 1. I had pretty much stopped watching any Star Trek then I heard about Lower Decks. Started it and love it.

I then heard about a crossover episode with Strange New Worlds so I started that to get caught up and enjoyed it.

Then I found out that it basically started in Discovery Season 2, so I skipped the rest of season 1 and just finished season 2.

I’m not going to continue Discovery. I have no interest in any of the characters.
