That’s every US president of the previous 50 years. Like literally.

Don’t put all your criticisms that belong on the system, the parties, and their representatives onto Trump, because once Trump is gone (and he will be someday), we’ll still have all those problems. Trump is symptom, like a cancerous lump among many that has finally become large enough to be visible through your skin: but he isn’t the cause of any of this. He’s not the cancer cluster of a neighborhood you were born into that set this situation up. You have to make your criticisms structural otherwise they just swap from Bush to Obama and they get to reset the clock.

Basically, since Carter, since the southern strategy, since the Iran hostage crisis, we’ve had one party in the US. Carter got shellacked in that election, to the point that when Democrats came to in the mid 90’s, they were basically Republicans. And nothing real has changed since then. The characters and talking heads have been replaced, but we’re still (largely) under the same political paradigm.

It’s a matter of degrees and audacity. At least the others pretended to care about workers with their words and some actions. Trump took zero actions to help workers.

There are structural problems and Trump himself is his own malignancy.
