Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre is one of the oldest theatres in Bangkok, Thailand. It was established in 1933 by King Prajadhipok, also known as Rama VII, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Chakri Dynasty. The theatre was initially a cinema, showcasing both Thai and international films, but it fell into decline with the rise of multiplex cinemas.
