    Also also, jfc this was so much work. I’m never taking AOTY-picking this seriously again. gotta do it by gut feel. Across my 4 lists, I selected and ranked 50 releases. Getting there took me a listen through all the 2023 music I liked, 2 rounds of rating, then a final A:B sorting to try to get the order right. Takes all the fun out of it, best just to shoot from the hip unless you’re an actual reviewer with, like, credentials and stuff
