      If i was to guess, there a probably a ton of Bat species we do not know about, that are separated by such minute differences that to play the guessing game would be harrowing.

      Or the scientific names are really large

        Not OP but I read somewhere that 20% of mammal species are bats. So you’re probably right.

    fun fact, bats are members of the Sctrotifera clade, along with some other mammals that have scrotums. Interestingly, primates are not members of this clade.
