I’m seeing months old and year old posts more often.

Some of the feed types are broken, devs are working on the issues one bug at a time. Currently, they’re aiming for stability, rather than usability, but those fixes will eventually get merged in the BE as well.

Echoing the other comments: Sorting your front page by “Active” tends to do that. I like sorting by “Hot” the most. You can change the default sorting on your settings page.

I do both “Hot” and “All” - are you on Local or Subscribed maybe?

My current front page’s oldest post is 2 hour old - almost everything else is < 60 minutes old right now

That’s just gonna be at the mercy of how many communities you’ve subbed to and how many of them are active, then.

On my own “Subscribed” and “Hot” page I do get two posts that are over a year old, but most are still less than a few hours old.

My preferred strategy is to always browse All, and just block communities that I consistently dislike - once you’ve done enough blocking it becomes pretty great.

I keep forgetting, is it “hot” or “active” that’s broken?

I think you are sorted by “Active”, so if an old post gets a new comment or something it goes to the front page.

Sort by “New Comments” and your frontpage will be a lot more active.
