      There would be too many coincidences, given the framing and tension, for it to not be intentional.

    that film scarred my little child mind when i saw it on HBO at far too young an age. i’m 45, and it still creeps the shit out of me.

    and you’re sure as shit that when i saw that DS9 scene years later, i had flashbacks to that scene in The Thing.

      I got traumatized by The Shining when I was around 7 years old. The bathtub scene in particular. A year or so later, I saw The Thing and it freaked me out in a whole other way. They’re both my favorite horror movies now.

        oh, yeah, me, too.

        my parents decided around… i think it was after about 6 months, to cancel their HBO subscription until my brothers and I were older, since we kept finding ways to sneak into their room and watched fucked up movies we shouldn’t be watching, and then we’d have years of nightmares, lol

        for my next younger brother, it was Poltergeist.

        for my youngest brother, i believe it was The Piano, lmao
