i actually got to see him play a bunch of the magnolia sessions live at a super duper tiny venue here in CO, it was awesome. he just packs his music with emotion
i cant think of a single song hes done that i havent liked, its crazy
I saw Matt open for Devil Makes Three a few years back and I was blown away by his stage presence. I have been a fan of DM3 since their first record, and could have left right after Matt’s set.
I hope he gets the recognition his work deserves. GemsOnVhs has introduced me to some of my favorite new music, Matt is definitely near the top of that list.
