I am getting the feeling that most here refused to read the article, so this chart should help clear things up
Is it? Last I heard most of North America and Europe has committed to removing all of their Chinese networking hardware.
And as we all know North America and Europe equal to the world, and WSJ is a CPC propaganda outlet.
This is what happens when you choose to live in a bubble. But I am in a generous mood and I will grant you that North America and Europe are the world, and the rest are savage living in huts with no network infrastructure. Western companies still can’t replace all the Huawei equipment and need more money to do so.
PS: the West is
-15%-12% of the world and declining ;) there’s a whole world out there that doesn’t share the West’s sinophobia. This person thinks refusing to build your entire country’s networking infrastructure on equipment that has been shown to be backdoored by the CCP is racism. Internet routers and firewalls aren’t people, get your shit straight.
Well, the equipment are still there in the West 5 years later, and this was never about backdoors which have never been proven. It is solely about it being a Chinese company. Check your Sinophobia.
This is misinformation. You’re full of shit and you’re trying so hard to make this about racism. It’s about insecure and untrusted hardware.
If we choose to believe the US government -unwise choice- why in 2024 there are still Huawei and ZTE devices used in the US and elsewhere and why is the
-FCC-US government dragging its feet on funding their replacement? If the backdoors were a concern they would have been replaced by now with utmost urgency. The following news article is from May this year: https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/2/24147499/fcc-huawei-zte-rip-and-replace-funding-isps
FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel says the government has only allocated $1.9 billion to reimburse providers, which is $3.08 billion less than the $4.98 billion the FCC estimates it will need.
In the letter, Rosenworcel says almost 40 percent of providers in the program can’t afford to replace their equipment without additional money. She adds that several companies may have to shut down if they don’t receive additional funding to replace equipment, potentially leaving some areas without service.
Racism is blinding. You should be more critical. Actions speak louder than words.
The West is only 15% of the world, but it’s 80% of the people not living in mud and eating stones
give it time, it is heading there :) but I do appreciate the honest racism
