Trump exists squarely at the intersection of joke and punchline.
I don’t think that Trump is anti-LGBTQ+. For that, he would need to have some kind of principles.
Fact is, all he cares about is what other people can do for him, and how much they massage his prostate with their tongues.
Likewise, he will screw over out heterosexual white male just as soon as he will screw over anyone else.

I think he’s just an opportunist, he says the things his followers want to hear and only befriends rich, powerful people. Even if he realised what harm he’s doing to the rest of us he wouldn’t care, cause he’s sitting at the cool kid’s table so to speak.

If you think that’s because he hates trans people, then you misunderstand Trump.
He doesn’t give a shit one way or the other, but his supporters hate trans people, and he loves power.
He’s made many many comments against trans people. It’s not just his supporters; he himself called transgender a mental illness.
Body dysmorphia is a mental illness, and the treatment is therapy and possibly gender reassignment.
The problem comes from the fact that some people hear “mental illness” and think “dangerous” and “boy I’d love to genocide them,” not “what are the treatment options?”

He has hired black people and Trump hates black people. He still thinks the Central Park 5 are guilty despite the actual perpetrator being found and the five being exonerated.

What don’t you like? It’s an example of “having a black friend doesn’t make you not racist” in the same way that “hiring a gay man doesn’t make you a friend of gays”. Trump has already indicated that he will (again) disallow trans people in the military.
You ever hear somebody use the phrase “he’s one of the good ones?” Because I get the feeling trump uses it quite a bit. Besides - it’s obvious Trump cares more about loyalty than he does ideology. Even Hitler had a homosexual in his organization at the start.

The fact that he’s a billionaire is more important than anything else. Same reason Thiel funds conservatives, he’s rich enough that any anti-gay lgbtq stuff doesn’t actually have any effect on him. Same reason Rogan and Musk could smoke weed in Texas on video and not face any charges. It’s just wealth solidarity trumping any supposed “family values” or “war on drugs” as per usual. Lindsey Graham being gay is like Washington’s worst kept secret and yet he represents one of the most bigoted states on the side of bigotry for over 20 years.
