The Doctor is beyond any doubt and I trust them implicitly. Who knows which one you’re even talking to with the other one, there’s at least 17 different versions of them, all of whom have at best a basic idea how humans work beyond the medical stuff.

Edit: I was trying to be funny and make it ambiguous which one is which, but I failed lol

And then there’s the one [formerly] from Gallifrey.

He became a master of disguise. Surprising that they hadn’t considered the ability until late into the series.

Edit: I understood what I was playing off of. Just the ole multiple personality switcheroo. Not sure where the downvote stems from. We may require another doctor to assess the situation:

      Maybe not that one.

I’m not Bri’ish. One week I decided to learn me some Doctor Who lore and history, seeing as how it’s been on forever and people like it. It must be good right?

I gave up the second night. I’m sorry, but you guys can keep the Doctor.

It’s an aquired taste. Very helter-skelter between actors/show-runners/decades. Meant to appeal to a younger crowd, but also occasionally nightmare inducing.

Edit: if I may make a recommendation, watch the episode “The Eleventh Hour” (series 5 episode 1, from 2010). Matt Smith’s first full episode as The Doctor gives a solid primer for what can be expected from the show as a whole.

I stumbled across Doctor Who when I was five years old (Tom Baker, of course) and have been a fan ever since. I had no idea how to recommend it to an adult until just now – thank you!

I’ve run across the question of how to break into Who a few times. Tried to come up with a list of introductory episodes: one that explains the basic premise, one light-hearted, one scary, one message heavy, yadda yadda. But each time, I’d always come back to “The Eleventh Hour” as the best foot forward.

Have you tried the original doctor who? I enjoyed those way more than nu-who; especially the capaldi stuff (which, as much as I liked the actor, the story arcs were just kinda bleh imo). I stopped watching after capaldi regenerated. Out of the nu-who though, I’d say (original) David Tennant/Christopher Eccleston > Matt Smith > capaldi ??? Other nu-whos.
