Why does it feel like I’m reading articles about egg prices virtually every day. I don’t get why anyone cares this much.
I guess it was because the price of eggs was practically a campaigning slogan shared a lot around trump supporters.
…so? As far as I know, the prices are up due to all the bird flu cases which to my understanding has nothing to do with trump.
Sure it is partially due to bird flu. They were going up because of Covid before that.
However, the man in charge who campaigned on reducing egg prices is now slashing the departments that keep these things in check and enacting tariffs on imports that may be needed for egg production. So, he does have responsibility for the prices even if it’s not directly.
Because people are broke and eggs are a cheap source of protein?
It’s because eggs are one of the more universal food items. Their price sort of shows how well the economy is doing so it’s a nice gauge on that sort of thing.
If they find out that you can just not buy eggs and your life doesn’t really change all that much, it’s gonna be crazy for the chicken period enjoyers of the world.

They fired people to try to free money for more tax breaks for the top 1% with zero concern if these people were needed or useful.
The less eggs you can afford to buy increases the supply for the people who do not need to worry about the price of eggs.

Last time I bought eggs I ended up throwing them away because I didn’t eat them. I forgot about them.
So ya I pretty much never eat eggs unless it’s a special occasion.
They could rise to $100 for all I care.
I switched everyone to oatmeal breakfasts and leftovers in flour tortilla. Haven’t had complaints. I also have done mild( half a jalapeno for flavor) chilaquiles in a torta, or sub sandwich bread, for a savory breakfast.
I use avocado for creamyness and use whatever protein leftovers I have.
Tofu scramble is pretty good. Firm or extra firm tofu block, slice and crumble into a bowl. 1 tbsp turmeric, 1 tbsp black pepper, 1 tbsp garlic powder, mix. Cook in a pan on medium stirring occasionally, will turn yellow as it heats up. Then add key ingredient black salt (kala namak, a salt with a strong sulfur flavor) to taste. Mix in with your pan fry mix of choice, I like onion/garlic/serrano/mushroom/smoked paprika/chili powder/spinach/tomato and green pepper/cilantro added at the end. Serve with fruit and toast.
Deep fried tofu with peanut sauce is like crack.
We got chickens when facing an egg crisis here in NZ. Lovely little animals. It’s been nice being able to look after and care for these creatures, knowing they are living the good life whilst consuming their eggs. Much more useful than my dumb dog.

So these monsters are screwing us on the price of eggs and the math on the price of eggs!

For me it’s more in the 6-10 range, the cheapest store brand are 5 something. They’re saying wholesale is averaging $8 at this point

Guys, I think I figured it out, the Republicans expected the variables that stores the prices to roll over once they got beyond the max allowed value and reset back to minimum.
The devs seems to have patched that exploit however…
