These are soldiers who have been fed a steady diet of Netanyahu’s propaganda for the majority of their lives.

Despite the systematic destruction of their capacity for empathy, what was asked of them was so inhuman, that they couldn’t bear existing.

Those are rookie numbers, let’s try and get it to 1000%.

The problem with disillusionment is that once you realize what you have done it can sometimes be too much to handle. It’s one of the reasons why it’s so hard to break people from their extreme beliefs. Sometimes it’s as small cutting off family members because of their beliefs, and sometimes it’s something massive like murdering thousands of people because you were told it was the right thing to do. The majority of people want to think they are inherently good and your brain will do everything in its power to justify it because otherwise you are an evil person that has done evil things. And when you have done truly evil things it’s difficult for the brain to cope.

This is why I believe that these world leaders like Putin and Netanyahu are particularly evil because they are indoctrinating their young men do unspeakable things to their fellow humans for personal gain and don’t give a shit about the people they are murdering or the psychological damage they are doing to their own people. And it’s why genocide and wars always have generations of emotional and psychological scarring and pain. Because in the end, even those that survive have to bring it home with them.
