The Pentagon’s investigation of Sen. Mark Kelly over a video that urges American troops to defy “illegal orders” has raised a slew of questions, and some criticism, from legal experts.
Some say the Pentagon is misreading military law to go after Kelly as a retired Navy fighter pilot. Others say the Arizona Democrat cannot be prosecuted as a member of Congress. A group of former military prosecutors insists he did nothing wrong.
The Pentagon announced the investigation last week after Donald Trump’s social media post accusing Kelly — and the five other Democratic lawmakers in the video — of sedition “punishable by DEATH.”
They’re threatening him with legal action, just as the courts are tossing the other frivolous cases they’re bringing. This will get tossed, too, except it will be tossed by a military panel who will be defying the administration, and sending the message to the entire military that Kelly, et Al, were correct, OFFIICALLY reinforcing the position that they SHOULD refuse illegal orders from this administration.
I saw Kelly on one of the Sunday morning shows, and he isn’t the least bit intimidated, and in fact was not only defiant, but aggressively so. I think he would LOVE to be Court Martialed under Pistol Pete.
Kelly is looking more and more presidential to me. I want the next president to be the kind of guy who will get aggressive against MAGA criminality, and he’s looking like the guy to do it. In addition, he’s a REAL American hero - a fighter pilot AND an astronaut - and MAGAs are going to believe in his strength a lot more than those MAGA weenie PedoCons.
I want America to move more left, it’s long past time for a correction in the political pendulum, but we can’t do it as long as we have MAGA fighting their guerilla propaganda war. It’s not just difference in political philosophies, MAGA is literally an organized criminal enterprise who’s core values are treason, corruption, pedophilia, racism, bigotry, misogyny, and more. They need to be purged from our government and our society, and their members prohibited from holding office under 14A/S3.
Once we’ve accomplished that, we can rebuild our nation properly. But we can’t do that if we leave a rogue demolition crew to dismantle our work while we’re sleeping at night.
If that video was sedition, then so is this post. They’re saying the exact same thing.

If you get into an argument about this nonsense with a Trump supporter you can basically end the conversation with one simple question. “If a Commanding Officer gave the order to take out the president, should a soldier follow it?”

However, he’s on the record with what he said, and it’s backed by military law.
Once they’ve taken the 1 hour to investigate and come to that conclusion, it SHOULD be time to move on.

All the Trump administration had to say is, “Go ahead and disobey illegal orders; we’re not issuing any.”
