As a life-long soccer fan, I’ve dreamed of the world cup coming to the US. But now, between the shame of being an American, the danger this country poses to visitors and FIFA’s corruption and shameless money grabs I want nothing to do with it and hope it gets boycotted.

The US Men can’t win a World Cup fairly, so they’ll just kneecap the other teams with immigration shit instead.

I could, but when it’s my fault I’ll take the heat.

Writing and prose are invaluable tools of interlocutory efforts. I exemplify an extensive history of accusations of bot-generated conversation in online games, established far earlier than the modern wave of Clankers in our midst.

If I fail an edit, it’s my fault. Autocorrect’s execution during the word smithing process or not. My name is on the top, so I stand by the quality of the words as published.

Okay, this got out of hand. I usually screw up whenever I don’t put on my glasses before I hit post. Have a good one!

I remember years ago at a world cup Iran and USA played each other, and started the match by exchanging flowers and gifts.

There were a lot of sliding tackles iirc.

I’d love to see Iran knock out the US it could potentially happen I think if both finish their groups in second place.

    Crazier things have happened.

The nation with a three-century history of military action whenever we need a resource or our corporate overlords demand a better profit margin.

I don’t know, maybe because they’re athletes and not the cause of the conflict?

What a monumentally stupid fucking comment.

lol i find it hilarious that you get downvoted for pointing out the obvious; why are 2 nations at war are playing football for entertainment in the nation with which you are at war

      it’s fucking bizarro

I don’t want it here either. Don’t come to Meadowlands Stadium. It would send a clear message if the final game (and any others held there) has zero attendance and zero viewers.

We’re already jammed on weekends. Don’t come to NJ. Don’t attend the games.

I think it’s the phrasing “consider themselves at war” that is causing the down votes.

Until the US Congress declares a war, we’re committed to a limited armed intervention. They’re calling it a war. The Iranian authorities don’t consider it being policed or limitedly intervened. For them, it’s a war.

Yankee logic: thirteen thousand air strikes is not a war because of some legalist mumbo jumbo. How dare they call it a war! If they do, they shouldn’t play sports.

They shouldn’t play sports with in our nation since they’re at war with us. If they were only playing games in Canada or Mexico, that would be a different situation.

Why are we banning Russia then? But seriously, are you good with a team representing a country that is commiting a genocide or an offensive illegal war even as they play a game?
