This week I decided to add budgets to the movies (except The Blind which I could not find info for, at this time). Let me know what you think :)

I would like to tell you I have put in some work to make this mostly automated, but sadly I have not yet. I’ll probably end up there, soon enough, when I put in the time. For now I’m just manually entering the data.

The movie budget is a great addition! It helps paint a clear image of the gap between the ideas of the movie maker and public reception.

Thanks it help in the conversation. I mean I know Barbie has legs (pun intended) but when you see the W.W. compared to production costs, woo. We should expect a heap of new productions ripping off the ideas soon.

It’s so crazy that Barbie is still on the list generating revenue, and available in theaters. Good for the Barbie people.

It stays expensive to rent while it remains in theaters. Once it’s out of theaters, the price drops.

@ReluctantMuskrat Generally, sure. But they often stay $20 for a bit when they first hit VOD even when it’s no longer in theaters, and I’ve never seen them bump it up to $25 as they have with Barbie (save for some experimenting with release strategies during 2020, such as with Mulan)

I really like the numbers you have in this. Gives a much better idea of how these are actually doing.

Especially comparing how everything is doing better than Wonder Women did. Odd choice, but hey it works!

I’m kind of surprised at Saw X tbh. I’ve seen a lot more excitement for it in my online circles than any of the previous installments.

I guess I’m finally in a place where advertising can’t get to me because I didn’t even know it was a thing until just now. It’s the kind of thing I’d go watch in theaters if I had time.

I had no idea either but it’s crazy that they’re still going. They’re picking back up the main storyline? Who is even left to continue it?

I don’t watch the saw movies but from what I understand this one takes place between the first and second ones.

Ah so we’re just going to keep flashbacking to when

            SAW3 spoiler

Jigsaw was alive. They really wrote themselves into a corner by killing him so early.

I don’t think they expected it to keep going like this. There are something like 7 original Nightmare on Elm Street movies and Freddy is a horror icon. There are 11 original Friday 13th movies and Jason wasn’t really a part of a couple of them.

I think they just didn’t plan for him to still be going. If they keep doing this they’ll need to have him meet Freddy and get dream powers.

The Creator is a fun watch if not just for really good visual effects and some decently good sci-fi ideas. Sad to see it not doing so hot.

The meme stock movie is bombing, it appears. Not unlike a meme stock in the long term.
