Excited to buy 20 more games I won’t get around to playing. Especially if they are cheap!

I was reeeaaally tempted to get it last time it was discounted but the rational skeptic in me knows it’d be just a forgotten toy on the side within a month since I’m used to gaming on my (pretty good) desktop. Even if you travel a lot it only has a few hours of battery life so you can’t take it too far from civilization anyway

Would an external battery pack be able to keep it going? I have a battery pack that claims it can put out up to 18W. It’s really meant for phones, but wonder if it can keep a Steam Deck going, too?

I travel a ton, and have had mine since the 2nd shipment batch. Literally use it every day even though I’m typing this on a beefy gaming rig.Playing docked from the couch is the best thing ever, and when I travel I can usually get a few hours out of most games I play unplugged buy tuning settings or just playing less demanding games until I get to the hotel or whatever. Most games get me 3.5-5 hours after tweaking. The most hungry games I get more like 1.5-2hrs, but know that going in and can plan accordingly.

My wedding is exactly on the 29th of July. Might have to cancel that.

Steam sales haven’t been good for a while unfortunately.

My strategy these past few years is to check isthereanydeal.com for any game I want during a Steam sale. Most other storefronts have their own sales around the same time as the big Steam ones and there’s usually at least one that has it at a lower price. There’s also a browser plugin that adds an isthereanydeal.com link to every Steam page, which makes this super easy when browsing for games.

Agreed. You can usually find a better deal on allkeyshop or wherever.

For example, I’ve been waiting to get Red Dead 2 in a sale, but given Steam is currently selling that at 60, they’d have to offer 70% off to equal prices you can find elsewhere.

Maybe it will be on Game Pass though. Seems like the kind of game I’d rather own than rent, but perhaps at launch I’ll try it on Game Pass and then buy later.

I’m hoping against hope for a sale on Cities: Skylines II, but given it’s all pre-orders rn I don’t expect that to happen

Well I’m an idiot. I just bought the X4 expansions. They were 20% off though.

On the bright side, you now have the X4 expansions and won’t need any new games for a while!

      Enjoy the Boron!

I will check few indi games on my wishlist, but for sure I won’t buy any AAA game. I still got massive backlog on PC, PS5 and NS.
