BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut judge has set Jan. 23 as the date for a new Democratic primary election in the Bridgeport mayor’s race after having tossed out the September election results because of alleged ballot box stuffing.
Lol meanwhile a dude who literally robbed Bridgeport is the mayor right now. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Ganim
Just look at the charges.
Over six years, Ganim engaged in a shakedown of city contractors, accepting more than a half-million dollars; he took bribes in the form of cash, food and wine, clothing, home renovations, and diamonds.
…
On July 1, 2003, U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterton sentenced Ganim to nine years in prison and about $300,000 in fines
Cool. So he was fined less than the bribes they found out about.
Yes, but only $25k less
U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterton sentenced Ganim to nine years in prison and about $300,000 in fines and restitution, in addition to $175,000 that he had previously stipulated that he owed.
Holy shit! Wth are those people thinking electing this criminal to office???
At least he hasn’t gotten his law license back after multiple attempts.
In 2021, Ganim again sought reinstatement of his license to practice law. The Grievance Committee voted, 3–2, to recommend denial of Ganim’s request, and in 2023 the Connecticut Superior Court agreed, finding that there was “insufficient” evidence that Ganim was morally fit to practice law.
If they’re concerned with ballot box stuffing in the primary I do question if the same thing happened to enable his reelection. It’s plausible, at a minimum.
That may have been why people went through the film of ballot boxes, to get proof of what they suspected.
Well that explains pretty well why Bridgeport is how it is.
He should be in jail for at least 100 years minimum since he was holding a government position. Fuuuck this BS.
