A handheld anti ship weapon. The nock gun. Firing this thing will probably blow your entire shoulder off from the recoil.
That’s an earlier ersion of the Nock gun. It was used in the British navy 1780’s-1800’s.
It wasn’t use much because the sailor firing it tended to end up with his shoulder broken.
Maybe people didn’t need shoulders back then.
Sometimes eight barrels simply isn’t enough.
Jokes aside this would have been used by a guard in an emplaced position like a tower where it’s fire power out weighed it’s weight.
