Don’t sensationalise; the headline numbers are bad enough without trying to make it sound worse.

There are 57,000 women who are homeless; or in housing that is not much better. Couch surfing; garages; substandard housing or even “uninhabitable” housing. There are 33,000 kids in the same situation with these women.

Interesting in NZ we would say half eight; for 8:30. Which when written looks really strange; but it is the shortening of half past eight. But strangely we always say quarter past eight rather than quarter eight.

8:25 would be eight twenty five.
8:35 would be twenty five to nine.
8:45 would be quarter to nine, or more uncommon is just to read out eight forty five.

Whilst pricing everything at “what the market will bear” is valid; it is a shitty way to do business.

Valve has traditionally taken a longer view of things; if they sell a controller that you will love and use for years. Their reputation grows, especially if they are not gouging their customers for everything they can.

Valve will make more than enough by selling games via Steam; having an “optimized for Steam Controller” tag somewhere will keep those who already purchased happy; and drive more sales over the long run.

I would ask why they would even apply? Have you no honor; you are stinking rich, there is no possible situation where you would need the scholarship…so why even apply.

The only way that this works in my head is if these are the initial recipients of a new perpetual scholarship from the “Lopez foundation” or similar. Thus paying it forward for generations; rather than just a rich person pissing contest saying look my kids with the best tutors in the world beat out everyone else for another scholarship.
