  • I actually thought about that, and save for having a dead drop, there is no way around sharing at least an address or PO box. I didn’t put the logistics in the post, but setting up the shipment would preferably be set up over email. Which can easily be done with PGP. Even if there was a service that would ensure a package reaching its intended recipient without the sender knowing the destination, the middleman needs to be trusted. But I completely understand your hesitation, and no offense taken. I mean, I’m basically a random person on the internet.

  • I’m open to change/revise the rules. I mean, it is meant for the community. Guess people can vote on your initial comment if they agree with you and with enough, I’ll remove it. Won’t negotiate on the “No AI” though. I want to promote/inspire creativity and artistic expression.

  • Clear and honest communication.

Preferably if possible well before, if we are talking about in a relationship/friendship/coworker. Most people can empathise. But empathy is ultimately based on our own experiences because that’s all we know of, and this goes for all feelings.

Even if the person is not aware of your responses to what ever situation it might be, but it is one that “triggers” a stress response etc. As Clear and concise communication as possible in the situation is always best. But I would refrain from framing the persons unconscious behaviours or normal bodily functions in a way that makes the person feel responsible. Unless they have actually tried to agitate. Since their response most likely would be a defensive one, and thus not helpful for the situation and future dialogue.

So my recommendation would be something along the lines of: I’m feeling really stressed right now and need to collect my thoughts. I need a moment alone.

And try to leave the situation if you can, before asking others to leave.

Try to use broadly relatable language such as stress and anxiety. If it is a person that is not familiar with your need and responses, to help them empathise.

This isn’t a silver bullet, but it will lessen the risk of confrontational responses.

  • I took it one step further and try my darndest to choose local products where possible, and if not, smaller EU businesses. Unilever, mondeles, nestlé, etc are companies I now try to actively avoid. Because once we loose the small actors we no longer have any choice left at all. Unfortunately the end game for unregulated markets always end up with monopoles. I know our EU market is regulated, but the enforcement against the actors invested in anti-compeditive behaviours are pretty toothless in my opinion.

Must say the local/small alternatives are actually in most cases better. Ritter Sport chocolate is in my opinion more tasty than marabou and better size. The local ice cream producers also have more interesting options, and Arvid Nordquist coffee taste better. What I am trying to say is that I’m not missing out quite the opposite.
