Watched it, liked it. Elaine May was great as the klutzy botanist Walter Matthau marries for her money. In a sense it’s too bad she moved on to writing and directing not long after this and didn’t act more but then again, she did those things so well. Matthau is always good and I thought he did a good job with this character.

I see, and yah, that worked – I loved Peter O’Toole’s performance, he did seem to do all of that on his own in the film.

I’m not interested in Ishtar, in the end, but I would be curious to know what you learned about Lawrence of Arabia. That’s one of my favorite movies, but I couldn’t say how historically accurate it is.

Story time! I can vividly remember a co-worker of mine at the time, a 6 foot 4 inch tall, 260 pound dude, pelvic-thrusting madly in my direction, while singing that song.
