My wife and I adopted Layla from the Balam Foundation a little over two weeks ago. She’s a beautiful white polydactyl with that smudge over here eye and her tail too. She was found along the side of the road by some construction workers and they called the Foundation who took care of her and flew here to San Francisco where we picked her up. She’s an absolute purr machine and she’s quickly become one of the family, batting our dog Jack’s ears and tail around (sans claws) and rough housing with our 3 year old gray tabby Edythe. If you’re in the U.S. or Canada and thinking of adopting a cat or two (the Foundation has a lot of bonded pairs) please head over to the website and fill out an application https://www.balamfoundation.org/ There is no adoption fee, you reimburse the Foundation for the travel expenses, so it’s not the least expensive process in the world but it is worth it.
She does, she actually has two thumbs per front paw, there’s a pair of wee ones in between the big ones and the rest of her paw.
