I think it’s not so much that the writing is bad for her, honestly. She touched on the struggles of an immortal/long-life individual in her own way, and how much she has sacrificed (and even forgotten) to save her people. I know genshin loves doing this for various different aspects of long life, like zhongli’s, furina’a, xiao’s, etc but I thought mauvika’s is definitely a bit more different? She’s even been at points where she’s wanted to give up, even forgetting the faces of her own family because of how long it’s been. Furina’s case was already depressing but mauvika being a normal human being roped into living for so long makes it a lot more relatable, esp when she sacrifices the mementos she had saved from years just to save kachina too. I definitely really like her as a character, far far more than I thought I would based on her initial appearance and design.
