In announcing his sanctions against the ICC, Mr Trump said that the US would “impose tangible and significant consequences on those responsible for the ICC’s transgressions” that threaten the national security of the US and Israel.

The president’s executive order includes financial and visa sanctions on individuals and their families who assist in ICC investigations of US citizens or allies.
