Taking a look at what gets upvoted and what is downvoted to oblivion, it’s quite clear what the community at large wants.
We don’t want [email protected] to be just another “serious conservative comm” any longer, they have whole instances dedicated to their kind of “free speech” and other comms as well.
So to that end I have thrown my hat in the ring to be mod and steer this comm to be what people want it to be so show your support at https://lemmy.world/post/25837943
I have also typed out a proposed draft set of rules to keep things from “going off the rails”:
- Parody With Purpose: This is a space for humorous takes on conservative politics. We welcome satire, but draw the line at content that promotes racism, sexism, homophobia, or other forms of bigotry.
- Memes Over Manifestos: This community focuses on humor and parody, not serious political debate. There are plenty of spaces for earnest conservative discussion—this isn’t one of them.
- Highlight Contradictions: The best content points out inconsistencies and hypocrisies in conservative talking points. Creative commentary is encouraged.
- Public Figures Fair Game: Politicians and pundits can be satirized, but no targeting of private individuals, doxxing, or harassment.
- No News Zone: Memes only, news should be sent to the nearest relevant comm
- Clear Satire: Make your satirical intent reasonably clear. We’re here to mock bad ideas, not accidentally spread them.
- Relevant Content: All posts should relate to conservative politics or ideologies in some way.
- Community Respect: Disagree with fellow members all you want, but personal attacks aren’t welcome. Save the criticism for the ideas, not each other.
- Moderation Discretion: Mods will use reasonable judgment in applying these rules. We’ll be fair, but firm.
- Remember The Purpose: This community exists as a pressure valve—a place to process through humor the often frustrating world of conservative politics.
Yeah I don’t really give a shit about being banned from all those subs I never even went to anyways. I was more using it to prove my point that Lemmy has a comically bad mod abuse problem in one direction. Even on reddit I was never banned from 10+ subs simultaneously for one comment on one sub.
I recognize that not everything on the Internet is “for me” I never made that argument at all. I was simply pointing out that on Lemmy there are an unlimited number of subs that already post the exact same garbage that cm002 has been spamming here for the last few days.
Not every sub on Lemmy needs to post the same exact crap 24/7. I appreciated the rare conservative or moderate spotting as a sight for sore eyes in the ocean of far left spam that Lemmy hosts daily.
