Exactly, accounts signed off on this, so clearly it’s not crazy. Who knows maybe they’re thinking “Wow I can’t believe we got this person for only 42”

Yeah I have no clue the avg cost of living in the UK, but in WV, US, I make 40k a year just answering phones and that’s a soso wage around here. Livable, barely, retirement nigh impossible.

WV is one of the lowest cost of living states in the country.

I used to make 40k in Nebraska and I was barely scraping by, we’re not much higher up the list.

That sounds like a pretty good salary, but I have heard that US salaries are much higher than in my country, because folks are almost wholly (individually) responsible for looking after their basic needs, including retirement (? but I think medicaid does a lot?).

Do you get to work from home at least? My sister’s worked phones for over a decade now, mostly from home, and looks like she’ll probably retire off of that job. Certainly not living large, but comfortable.

Yeah, we don’t have humanitary laws. No healthcare, we famously stated food is not a human right, etc. That would be scary echo socialllliiiism… so yeah when I get cancer (WV are more likely to get cancer than other states) I’ll just go broke and lose my house and land to Blackrock or Vanguard invested companies… probably.

Quick intro to the near uselessness of US insurance. 30% of biweekly paycheck for my insurance. $6k deductible (for my family of 3) and then coverage is for about 60% in network or 40% out of network. Whereas a hospital room alone is $800 per day.

I would gladly give up more in taxes to be rid of insurance here. Healthcare is being touted as a bogeyman, just to support private interests…
