I think a lot of us were pretending haha. We’d sneak out to go to McDonald’s and got caught. We said we only ate the fish burger (big lie), so it was okay. After a while, they knew and frankly didn’t care anymore.

One day my mom found a wine bottle under my bed and the whole family was gathered to talk some sense into me.

She was really riling my brother up, and said you see she’s out of control. She drinks alcohol now!

I said, be glad it’s only alcohol and not drugs, living in this house and my brother burst out laughing and that was that.

What I mean is, they pretend, we pretend :)
