I can see that happening. There’s basically no upper limit to human suffering and depravity. Personally, I’ve got a decent tolerance of anything short of ‘hacking kids to bits with machetes while lighting puppies on fire with a flamethrower.’
It helps that we’re usually decently detached from the things they mention.
