Why bother voting at all if you know your candidate has no chance of winning? Why not just stay home and not make the effort? If you need to make people know how righteous you are, you can just tell them you voted. You can make up whoever you want. See how much easier that would be?

But go ahead and explain why you would waste your time voting when you know your candidate won’t win. I’d love to hear it.
