Their job is just to keep talking and not to leave any dead air. So, they just end up talking a lot of bollocks. I had a similar reaction to a commentator in our last game. They were commenting on why our set piece coach kept going up to the touchline to give instructions and how there are so many coaches involved in the game these days.
I don’t understand why that would be so confusing to a commentator of all peoiple. Why is that confusing? There is so much at stake and every tiny detail of the game is broken down and analysed these days. Including set pieces in games like this one where it’s difficult to break down a defensively structured side. You make the most of any opportunity or tactic to gain an advantage.
I like the commentating to aid what I’m seeing since I can’t always tell who may have a ball, or explain something I’ve missed. I can’t stand a lot of their shitty takes…
