Google has seemingly stopped restricting Android Auto from displaying Google Maps on both your phone and car dashboard at the same time.

Maybe it doesn’t work the same way in all cars but in mine it’s literally impossible to connect Android Auto if the car is in motion. You have to stop the car and put the handbrake on before you can connect.
