Hey all, some friends and I have been doing a podcast for the past 3 years but never really got into spreading it around.

Intro We review just the first hour of classic games, then submit scores for Gameplay, Story, Graphics, Sound, and Fun, with all categories weighted equally. The review is only half the fun, the rest of the podcast is filled with fun facts, banter, and bits, that I personally find very funny😁

What sets us apart? Understandably there are a ton of gaming podcasts. Focusing on the games first hour and how well it ‘hooks’ you is the focus and what is unique to ours. There are also many episodes with some goofy gimmicks as well - e.g. Super Mario 64 had one host pre-record their entire part and everyone had to keep up accordingly.

How come xxxxx got a 5.6?? Our score scale is based on a 5.0 being the average, and many games should fall around that score. Listen to the episode to find out more details on scores!

do you recommend any episodes? Look through the episodes or reviews and see if your favorite game has been played, that’s always a great place to start! Older episodes are a bit awkward and sound quality is lacking, but we pick up our stride pretty quickly. My personal favorite is S2E45 - The Bouncer.

The podcast is located on all major platforms, and can be listened to directly on our website as well: https://www.thefirsthourpod.com/

Thanks for reading!
