The majority of those whose names appear in the documents are not accused of wrongdoing and have been mentioned previously

When legal documents related to the case of convicted sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein were made public on Wednesday night, it caused an online frenzy that crashed the court website hosting the files in minutes.

More than 900 pages of papers were unsealed late in the day, identifying numerous Epstein associates and public figures as mentioned in proceedings of the case Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre filed against Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015.

Maxwell, the US-based British socialite and media heir, was convicted in New York in December 2021 of sex trafficking and similar charges for procuring teen girls for Epstein. In December 2023, a judge announced the documents would be unsealed in January 2024, sparking intrigue for followers of the case – many of whom expected the release would include a list of Epstein’s clients and co-conspirators.

However, the truth is less scandalous, as the majority of those whose names appear in the documents released on Wednesday are not accused of wrongdoing and have been mentioned previously in legal proceedings or news accounts.

I get it, Jeffrey Epstein was a financier and so he was connected to a lot of people who weren’t necessarily connected to the trafficking of underage women.

The problem is that, sorry to say, the company you keep reflects on you, even if you didn’t actually know your company was up to scummy shit.

It’s gonna take decades to wash that stink of association off the innocents, and I don’t that stink will ever really come off.

It’s unfortunate for the innocents, but as long as we still haven’t actually rooted out anyone else involved other than Epstein and Maxwell, I don’t think anyone can or will let it go. Especially considering the Trump connection and Epstein dying on Trumps watch. (Trump definitely isn’t an innocent lmao)

No, Trump definitely is not innocent. Don’t forgot he settled out of court with a Joan Doe who detailed that him and Epstein raped her and abused her when she was 13 at an apartment in New York. There are court documents detailing the whole thing.

It’s fucking clear Mar-a-lago was one of Epsteins haunts where he would pick up women.

Trump literally owned teen fashion pageants, and he would regularly stroll in while young women were undressing and dressing. He used to brag about how he could get away with it.

Yeah you don’t literally own a creepy teen fashion pageant, spend time making sure people know you’ve seen underage women naked without their consent, and have Epstein coming down to Mar-a-lago to meet women constantly if you’re not part of the fucking deal.

      Not even a question.

Epstein likes to tell people that he’s a loner, a man who’s never touched alcohol or drugs, and one whose nightlife is far from energetic. And yet if you talk to Donald Trump, a different Epstein emerges. “I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy,” Trump booms from a speakerphone. “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

This is exactly why I just don’t associate with anyone. Can’t be connected with a pedophile if you’re just not connected to any other humans. 🧠

the problem there is that no one can verify your authenticity, so your identity is easily used elsewhere.

Only if you’re important enough to search for in the first place. Most of us little people don’t fit that category (and our online footprint is very small).
