Seems like WiFi 7 is being pushed out quite fast. I still haven’t upgraded to 6 I guess I’ll be skipping the 6 upgrade and go straight to 7.

Agreed. Not gonna buy this right now since none of my clients support WiFi 7 yet. But Ubiquiti is pushing this out faster than WiFi 6.

It also looks like it requires a main network hub that handles 2.5GbE, along with the network cables (Cat6) to support it.

The current UDM Pro SE doesn’t even support that with the Network ports.

The standard and professional switches don’t even cover 2.5GbE. You would have to deploy Pro Max or Enterprise switches if you haven’t already.

For me it’s a wait and see. Nothing in my network requires 7 yet or the speeds that 7 can push. Most can’t even really utilize 6E.

Are you sure it requires a 2.5GbE switch? I assumed it would be compatible with gigabit but just not get the higher throughput.

As I’m facing a full upgrade of my small UniFi network. It’s worked well for me and I like the central management of all the nodes. Should I stay with Ubiquiti?

Yeah, I kept it neutral to see what comments would come in. In other posts I’ve seen complaints about Ubiquiti not finishing the development of one product before scrapping it for a replacement. For me the immediate problem is that they seem to have discontinued the small form factor router. (Or am I missing this someplace?) My EdgeRouter X SFP fits into my cabinet.
