In MW 2 and subsequent expansions, I modded a 50 ton Nova dubbed the “Super Nova” with less armor, 8 med lasers, and increased heat sinks to blast the legs off of anything that came within range. It was unspeakably effective to the point of feeling like I cheesed the game entirely.
Medium lasers are the most efficient weapon in the tabletop game too.
