This seems to apply only to Adblock and not UBlock, (I have both installed on chrome) and it only gets laggy with Adblock enabled 👀
uBlock Origin dev recently said the issue is specifically Adblock Plus 3.22 and AdBlock 5.17

It’s bad practice to have more than one adblocker running, they can interfere with each other. Use only Ublock Origin.
