People like to thumb their noses at comments like this, but the Saudis bombed the Houthis for the better part of a decade and that still couldn’t stop them from taking potshots at Saudi oil infrastructure. Note that the Saudis were using US weapons and intelligence to attack the Houthis so not totally different from the current situation. In the end diplomacy was what got the Houthis to stop. I’m skeptical that this time is going to be significantly different.

ETA: by comments I mean the comments of the Qatari PM.

“Give people who target civilians what they demand or they will keep shooting innocent people!”

    Strong argument, my dude.

But I don’t want to give Israel anything.

Real ignorant of you to not consider that SA has been bombing these rebels for decades and that didn’t stop them blowing up SA oil infra. Only thing that worked was diplomacy

It’s not pertinent to the discussion.

It is, it’s just not pertinent to what you specifically want to see happen.

No, it’s not pertinent. If you are getting punched by Mark for a long time and you decide to start punching Lisa, who was just walking by you are a dick and not entitled to demand that Steve over in the corner stop hitting Liam or else you’ll keep hitting Lisa.

The Houthis are an active, aggressive threat to peace and should be brought to heel or eliminated as a hostile actor.
