I’m staying in Cambodia right and they harvest actual birds nests; this got me very confused.

Isn’t that for…bird’s nest soup? Something about the spit the birds use, and it’s edible, and they use it for soup?

      (Have you had it?)

I haven’t, I guess the boil the best after the spit has been used and make soup out of it.

There is also ‘birds nest drink’ which is at every little shop and is essentially the same thing. A friend told me it’s very reminiscent of cum.

If it’s at every little shop as a drink, it must be popular though. Even if it does taste like cum.

Are there some local beliefs of it being medicinal or the like?

I actually don’t know many people who drink it, and I’ve lived here previously for 3 years. I think there is some superstition around it, it’s supposed to help with digestion and I don’t know how much that is based off fact or not. Some people say it speeds up your metabolism, which is the same thing they say about eating all the chills.

That’s still super-interesting. Thanks for indulging my curiosity!

Are there any cattle pastures nearby to you? I see them all the time on old patties; could be an easy find for you
