Call me an idiot but what happened if these drones have mirrors on them would that solve the problem?
Not sure about laser protection, but it would make your stealth drones much easier to spot in general

Theoretically yes, you could “armor” a small object with some form of reflective coating. It would be wavelength dependent though, not every shiny thing reflects every wavelength of EM energy. Additionally, the reflection wouldn’t be quite 100%, meaning a powerful enough laser could simply burn through it.
