Not exactly traditional shakshouka, as I added potatoes and some leftover steak, but still delicious. And yes, I’m frequently mean to my cast iron and cook tomatoes in it.

Eh, it’s usually car camping, or “drag your crap a mile from the car” camping, so not very space or weight restricted. Even on the occasion we do a proper backpacking trip, a bundle of fresh herbs from the garden doesn’t weigh anything, and makes meals so much better.
