Not gonna lie, for halo it was worth it.

Everything else though not really, and now that halo is basically dead, definitely no reason to have gold in my opinion.

Also, Xbox was not the ORIGINAL paid online service, it was just the biggest proponent of it today, PC gaming had similar services before that.
