Almost all enemies in Master Mode are ranked up one tier by default: The red Bokoblins on the Great Plateau are all blue, the few formerly blue ones are now black, Fire Wizzrobes are now Meteo Wizzrobes, regular Taluses are now Rare Taluses etc.

If this would apply to ALL enemies, it would be impossible for the player to complete the Hyrule Compendium without having to resort to buying pictures in the Hateno Tech Lab. For this reason, Nintendo made some enemies exempt from the automatic upscaling, or even outright added new monsters in places where there haven’t been any before.

One example for a “non-scaled” one would be the Red-Maned Lynel on Ploymus Mountain (the one from the Zora questline) which will always be a red-maned one in both modes and independenly from whether or not other red Lynels have scaled up. He will simply never change.

An “extra” enemy example is the lone red Rider Bokoblin south of the Great Plateau. In Normal Mode, there are no Bokoblins whatsoever in that spot.

All of them respawn every Blood Moon, so don’t worry about accidentally killing them “too early”. The only type of monster where this can be an issue are Blue-Maned Lynels:

  • In Normal Mode, there are a Blue-Maned and a White-Maned Lynel in the Hyrule Castle Gatehouses and neither will scale up, so you can always find these enemy types no matter what.

  • In Master Mode both of them ar ranked up to White-Maned and Silver respectively, and Nintendo forgot to add an extra non-scaling Blue-Maned Lynel somewhere else. Once the other Blue-Maned Lynels ranked up to White Maned and above, the blue variant will be completely extinct.

Luckily, Lynels are enemies that scale up pretty late overall, so there is a decent opportunity to get the Camera Rune and then find a Blue-Maned Lynel somewhere on the map while they still exist.

PS:

Missing from that map is the Guardian Scout I which can no longer be found in Minor Test of Strength Shrines (they’re all GS-II now), but they still appear in the Ruvo Korbah Shrine from the Champions’ Ballad.
