COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – According to the Columbus Police Department, a former deputy and police officer was arrested after new evidence was discovered regarding a 2020 sexual assault investigation.

According to CPD, back in August 2020, Columbus Police initiated an investigation into reports of sexual assault against a juvenile. After making a recent recovery of additional evidence, CPD said warrants were obtained on Feb. 21 for Corey Brand.
