How can you tell if your home router is likely to be infected or is it currently infected?
They removed the known malware, but they recommend the following actions to be sure & protect yourself from other malware.
- Perform a hardware factory reset to remove all malicious files
- Upgrade to the latest firmware version
- Change any default usernames and passwords
- Implement firewall rules to restrict outside access to remote management services.
Do you still have the default password for admin access, or have you changed it?
I changed it when I got it.
Do I have to worry about switches?
I wouldn’t think unmanaged switches would be a problem but managed ones maybe
I wonder if something like this could or has happened to OpenWRT.
They always have been. SOHO equipment has been a target since they became network connected.
